Geek Science

So I’ve always wondered, why during a flight are we asked to turn off our electronic devices during take off and landing? So I e-mailed some people trying to find out just what was the reason. So, after a few days of nothing I get a very polite e-mail which said “Frankly, you know that screeching sound when you use a cell phone next to a radio? That noise can transfer into a pilot’s headset.” I was also informed it’s “very distracting.” So, it’s worth your safety to just power off your iPod and Laptop. Other note, why do I need to be in a praying mantis position to type on my computer in a plane? Just a question…
